Fire Shutter
This school in Chiswick had several issues with some old folding doors that separated the school kitchen from the dining area. The existing folding doors were over 50 years old and had no fire rating, and the gaps at the bottom of the sliding doors allowed the odd mouse to enter the kitchen area.
After discussion with the appointed Builders K&A Construction, Brooks Security attended the site and recommended the installation of one electric 60minute fire shutter and pedestrian steel fire door.
This two product approach allows staff to open and close the fire shutter on demand or in an emergency, and also enables staff to exit the kitchen via the steel fire door.
As you can see from the photo, the new shutters provide a clean, fresh look and brought the kitchen doors up to today’s standards as both products are tested and approved to BS 476:Part 22 1987.
